What is PCOS?

PCOS stands for polycystic ovary syndrome, a condition that develops when your body produces too much testosterone. Women normally have a small amount of testosterone, like men do estrogen, but in PCOS levels of testosterone are way higher than normal, throwing your natural hormone balance off. It also causes development of tiny cysts on your ovaries, throwing your normal ovulation "out of whack."
