Q: Who is a candidate for Tubal Ligation Reversal Surgery?
A: 
Weight limit is important and Dr. Streeter will consider you a surgical candidate if weight is 200 pounds or less. Depending on the height, if less than 5'4'' one may need to weight less than 200 pounds.


Q: Do I need a previous operative report from my tubal ligation surgery?
A: 
Yes, this is helpful in determining whether you will be a candidate for surgery. Please submit via fax, (219 791-9787) an operative report and pathology report if available. If reports are not available, an x-ray may be necessary. (Your present partner must have a sperm count if he has not fathered children.)


Q: What kind of testing will be required prior to tubal ligation reversal?
A: 
Dr. Streeter requires a CBC, Chemistry Profile, possible Chest X-Ray, and E.K.G. based on previous medical history. These tests can be obtained at your local facility or order can be faxed to your particular facility.


Q: If I just recently had lab work done, can I utilize these results?
A:
 The time frame for labs to be utilized is 3 months. EKG and Chest X-ray can be 6-12 months old.


Q: Is the Tubal Ligation Reversal performed in the hospital setting?
A: 
The Tubal Ligation Reversal procedure is performed in an Outpatient Surgery Center.


Q: What type of anesthesia is used?
A:
 General anesthesia.


Q: What kind of an incision should I expect?
A: 
A 3-4 inch horizontal incision is made at the hairline.


Q: How much time should I allow for the procedure?
A: 
Initial consultation prior to the surgery, the day of the surgical procedure, and one post-operative day following the procedure is needed. (3 days total)


Q: When can I expect to be scheduled for surgery?
A:
 Once the medical information online form is reviewed by Dr. Streeter and operative report (if attainable) is received, a date is set and an information packet will be sent out 3 weeks prior to the surgery date. Included in this packet is a map of the area, attractions and hotels in the area and pre and post-operative instructions.


Q: Is there a deposit required?
A: 
Yes. The date is confirmed only after a non-refundable deposit of $500.00 is received. This amount is deducted from the surgical fee. We accept only cashier's check or money order made to Dr. Dennis Streeter or Family Surgical Solutions, LLC. No credit cards accepted or personal checks. Please do not send cash by mail.
